Self-exclusion is a way to step away from play for a longer, more definite period when you decide that is the right choice for you. It is a more structured option than a short break: once it is active, you cannot play or deposit for the duration you select, and we will not invite you back during that time.
Choosing to self-exclude is a positive, responsible decision, and there is no judgement in making it. It is designed to give you firm, reliable distance from play so you can focus on whatever matters most right now.
2.How it works
When you activate self-exclusion, your account is closed to play and deposits for the period you choose, and it cannot be lifted early. We also stop sending you promotional communications. You can still contact support if you need help with your account during this time.
Self-exclusion is deliberately harder to reverse than a short break, which is part of what makes it effective. It begins as soon as you confirm it, so the boundary you set takes hold right away.
3.Choosing a duration
You select how long your self-exclusion lasts from the available options: 6 months, 1 year, or 5 years. At the end of the period the exclusion does not lift on its own — you must take a deliberate step to reactivate your account.
When the period ends, your account is not reopened automatically. Reactivation involves a deliberate step and may include a waiting period, so that returning to play is always an active, considered choice rather than something that simply happens.
4.Setting up self-exclusion
You can start self-exclusion from your account settings, under your play-control options. Choose the period, confirm, and it takes effect immediately. If you would prefer to be guided through it, our support team can set it up with you, and the conversation is confidential.
If you are not ready for a long exclusion but still want to pause, the Breaks option offers a shorter time-out, and Gambling Limits can help you keep day-to-day play within budget.
5.Support and resources
Self-exclusion works best alongside support. Free and confidential help is available at any time, and our support team can point you to the right resource and help you put the right settings in place. Reaching out early genuinely makes a difference.
You will find helpline details and provincial support resources on our Responsible gambling page. In Québec, free and confidential help is available 24/7 from Jeu: aide et référence at 1-800-461-0140 or aidejeu.ca.
